The SBS6 presenter told De Telegraaf that while she understands contingency planning is necessary, she has not been approached for the role and harbours serious scheduling conflicts that would make the transition impossible.
The popular RTL talk show has faced unprecedented scrutiny in recent weeks as questions mount about the long-term viability of its current format. Uncertainty intensified when RTL reportedly expressed interest in Wilfred Genee, while established hosts Johan Derksen and René van der Gijp have previously signalled doubts about their continued involvement. Industry observers have even speculated whether the show's celebrated trio could splinter entirely, weakening what has been a cornerstone of Dutch evening television for decades.
No Formal Approach Yet
Hendriks acknowledged the reality facing producers: "We all know that if that flagship runs aground, and that will happen one day, then you have to have a plan." However, she stressed that no formal offer has materialised. Her current commitments present a practical barrier—she manages European football coverage for Ziggo Sport from Tuesday through Thursday, leaving minimal scheduling flexibility for a nightly talk show commitment.
The presenter offered a cautious opening should circumstances change dramatically. "Unless the parties can work it out together, but then I would still have to want it too," she said, indicating that personal preference would ultimately determine any future involvement. Her measured response contrasts with the urgency Talpa production company faces in stabilising the show's roster.
