Neville's recruitment blueprint centers on substantial defensive upgrades across multiple positions. The Sky Sports pundit advocated for three dedicated signings at the back, prioritizing a versatile centre-back capable of covering both centre-back and right-back duties—similar to how Piero Hincapie and Cristhian Mosquera operate at their respective clubs. Alongside this dual-position defender, United needs an elite centre-back to serve as a leadership figure and a left-back to rotate with Luke Shaw, enabling careful fixture management between league and European competitions.
