Kieft highlighted the stark contrast between Weghorst's situation at Ajax and his current role at Twente. "You do start to look at Wout Weghorst differently," Kieft remarked on his podcast. The analyst pointed out that Ajax's prolonged struggles over the past five years have created unrealistic expectations for their strikers, who are often compared to club legends like Marco van Basten. At Twente, Weghorst operates in a more forgiving environment where his technical qualities and consistency receive proper recognition.
