Malcom delivered a standout performance to guide Al-Hilal to a commanding 2-0 victory over African champions Mamelodi Sundowns in a pre-season friendly on Friday. The Brazilian winger struck twice during the Saudi club's training camp in Austria, extending his impressive run of form ahead of the 2026-2027 season.
The opening goal came through clinical finishing in the first half when Malcom capitalized on a precision pass from Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. Racing clear on a one-on-one opportunity, he made no mistake past the Sundowns goalkeeper. His second arrived in the second period when he converted a cross from new signing Sabri Dahal with a composed finish, putting the match beyond doubt.
Malcom's Austrian Camp Form
The winger has been prolific throughout Al-Hilal's preparation phase in Austria. His two-goal haul against Sundowns takes his tally to three goals across two friendlies, having already found the net in the 2-1 triumph over Sturm Graz. Manager Simone Inzaghi has rotated his squad liberally to assess different combinations, with new goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais earning his first competitive minutes in the second half.
Al-Hilal's pre-season schedule continues with further fixtures in Austria:
- MC Alger on 29 July
- Qatar's Al-Ahli on 3 August
The dominant display against the reigning CAF Champions League holders demonstrates Al-Hilal's readiness as they build momentum before their domestic campaign launches. Malcom's sharp form gives Inzaghi significant attacking options as the Saudi giants pursue another trophy-laden season.
