Filip Pavic and Maycon Cardozo: Bayern's Next Generation

Dante, now Bayern Munich's reserves coach, has identified two exceptional young prospects in the club's academy system. Centre-back Filip Pavic (16) and left winger Maycon Cardozo (17) are positioned to make significant impacts at the Bundesliga club after impressing during their early senior debuts.

Pavic's Rapid Rise Through Bayern's Ranks

Filip Pavic became Bayern Munich's second-youngest player in history when he debuted in January at just 16 years old, trailing only Paul Wanner in the club's record books. The German-Croat defender, born in Freising, has already earned senior football experience and represented Croatia at the Under-17 European Championship during the summer break.

Dante praised Pavic's defensive potential and mentality. "He has everything needed to become a very good defender," the former Bayern centre-back explained. The young defender demonstrates strong learning aptitude and maintains a humble approach to his development. Dante identified one area for immediate growth: communication on the pitch. "He needs to communicate a little more," Dante stated, noting that Pavic's physical development will naturally progress with age and consistent training.

Cardozo's Infectious Work Ethic

Maycon Cardozo embodies a contrasting profile to his centre-back peer. The Brazilian-born left winger, who relocated to Thailand at age ten before joining Bayern's World Squad in 2024, made his senior debut last season and has already impressed coaching staff with his intensity. Dante observed that Cardozo's relentless approach sometimes requires tactical management. "He is always focused, always concentrated. He is always full throttle," Dante said. "Once I had to slow him down: 'Hey Maycon, not every time sprint, sprint, sprint.'"

Cardozo's work ethic sets a positive example for Bayern's reserve group. His rapid German language acquisition—attributed to his international upbringing—demonstrates adaptability beyond the pitch. Both players are now positioned to gain regular minutes in the Regionalliga as they develop under Dante's guidance ahead of potential senior team opportunities.

With Pavic and Cardozo progressing through Bayern's reserve framework, the club continues leveraging its renowned academy structure to develop homegrown talent capable of competing at elite European level.
