Van Bronckhorst backs Feyenoord to exploit Inter's weaknesses in Champions League tie

Feyenoord manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has expressed confidence that his side can find tactical openings against Inter during Tuesday's Champions League match at De Kuip.

Van Bronckhorst acknowledged Inter's quality and experience but identified potential weaknesses to exploit. "Maybe they are a bit battered, but still with a lot of quality and experience," he said. "Every team has weaknesses. Some teams not so much, but there are opportunities for us tomorrow."

Feyenoord enter the fixture winless in their last three matches across all competitions. However, Van Bronckhorst emphasized the importance of home advantage, stating: "Especially at home, we go for the win every game. You can still taste the energy and confidence. I see that in training and hopefully tomorrow too."

The manager expects his team to remain patient when attacking Inter's defensive approach. "They are not afraid to play in a low block and then go into the transition. They have a lot of solid ball players, two good strikers... It's a very complete team," Van Bronckhorst explained.

Feyenoord defender Givairo Read noted that this fixture will differ significantly from a previous round-of-16 meeting in 2025, with only Read and Hadj Moussa remaining from that squad. "That was a completely different match. Then we also had a completely different team," Read reflected.

Kick-off at De Kuip is set for Tuesday evening.
