During the unveiling press conference for Franck Kessié, Giuntoli was asked about Juventus's strong early-season form. "I'm very happy for them, they are showing their value," he said carefully. "But I, honestly, am thinking about Atalanta: I think about the Atalanta of today and the one they will have to become from morning to night." The comments carried a thinly veiled message—his priorities have moved on entirely.

Giuntoli was referring to Nico González, Koopmeiners, and Douglas Luiz, three marquee signings he orchestrated at Juventus between 2023 and 2025. Rather than dwelling on their performances for the Old Lady, he pivoted to outlining Atalanta's recruitment strategy. The club moved swiftly through the transfer market, addressing gaps left by departures and tactical demands.
Atalanta's summer overhaul included several strategic additions. Gaetano Castrovilli arrived as an Italian playmaker, filling a midfield role Giuntoli deemed essential.
