Al-Hilal have confirmed the signings of goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais, defenders Sabri Dahl and Nawaf Al-Habashi, midfielder Abdullah Al-Anzi, and right-back Mohammed Al-Sarnooh from Al-Fateh. Their pursuit of Al-Taawoun's Mahzari represented a sixth targeted reinforcement, but negotiations have stalled amid financial disagreements between the two clubs. According to Saudi journalist Ahmed Al-Ajlan, Al-Qadsiah's advanced talks with Al-Taawoun have now cast serious doubt over whether Al-Hilal can complete the deal.

The 24-year-old right-back has become one of Saudi football's standout talents in recent seasons. Mahzari earned national team recognition with a call-up to face Serbia in March, though he ultimately missed selection for the 2026 World Cup squad. Last season, the Al-Taawoun defender made 35 appearances across the Saudi Pro League and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup, contributing one goal and two assists from his defensive position.
Reports suggest Al-Taawoun's inflated valuation has created a significant obstacle, with the club demanding fees both Al-Hilal and now Al-Qadsiah find challenging.
