According to Warnock, replacing a player of Van Dijk's calibre presents an extraordinary challenge. "The hard thing is trying to replace a player of Van Dijk's stature," Warnock explained. He emphasized that Jacquet and Leoni must continue developing their game-reading abilities, positioning, and defensive intelligence—skills typically refined between ages 26 and 27. Injuries, loss of form, and the psychological pressure of inheriting a legacy position could derail their progression.
