Former Manchester United coach René Meulensteen has backed the prospect of Cristiano Ronaldo joining Inter Miami to reunite with Lionel Messi, believing the two football icons would complement each other despite their legendary rivalry. Speaking exclusively about a potential MLS move, Meulensteen suggested that if Ronaldo wins the Saudi Pro League title with Al-Nassr this season, he could be tempted to explore new horizons in the United States.
A Perfect Partnership on Paper
Meulensteen, who coached Ronaldo during his trophy-laden years at Old Trafford, dismissed concerns that the egos of two all-time greats could clash. He explained that their contrasting playing styles would actually strengthen each other rather than create friction. "They're both equally important. I think they're actually very complementary to each other and I think they would enjoy playing together," Meulensteen told GOAL.
