Gabriel Jesus netted in Barcelona's commanding 3-0 victory over Getafe on Saturday, extending the Catalan club's perfect La Liga record to 24 points from 24 available. The Brazilian striker has become integral to Hansi Flick's offensive system, which continues to deliver clinical performances week after week.
Jesus spoke candidly about his seamless adaptation to life at Barcelona, crediting the technical excellence of his teammates for making his role straightforward. "Playing with these players is very easy," the 29-year-old told DAZN. "They all play very well and always have the ball. That makes it much easier for me to have scoring chances, and there I am ready to score goals." The former Arsenal forward's contentment reflects Barcelona's broader transformation under the German manager's stewardship.
Flick's Tactical Revolution
Flick has fundamentally reshaped Barcelona's approach this season, moving away from the inconsistency that plagued the previous campaign. His high-intensity, possession-based football has produced Barcelona's best domestic start in club history. Jesus emphasized the manager's role in unlocking the squad's potential: "Flick gives a lot of confidence to all the players. We are playing very well. When we are inside the area, we have to score goals."
The victory against Getafe showcased Barcelona's lethal efficiency in attack. Goals from Jesus, Anthony Gordon, and Jules Koundé punctuated a display that left little doubt about the reigning champions' ambitions this season. With Raphinha sidelined through injury, Jesus and the supporting cast have shouldered creative responsibility without faltering.
Jesus remains focused on translating Barcelona's domestic dominance into silverware. "I have played in teams that have scored many goals and now I am in one that scores many goals," he reflected. "Hopefully we continue scoring goals to win games and, at the end of the season, win titles." As Barcelona pursues multiple competitions, Jesus's form and finishing will prove crucial in determining whether this stellar start culminates in trophy success.
