Paris Saint-Germain extended their winning streak to four consecutive matches across all competitions with a commanding 3-1 victory over Le Mans at the Parc des Princes. Despite conceding a second-half goal that briefly threatened to derail their performance, PSG recovered with clinical finishing from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Maghnes Akliouche to secure a comfortable Ligue 1 triumph. Manager Luis Enrique emerged full of praise for the promoted side's spirited display, highlighting their defensive resilience and attacking ambition throughout the 90 minutes.
PSG's Clinical Response After Setback
Lucas Beraldo opened the scoring from the penalty spot, giving PSG an early advantage at home. The early goal appeared to have settled the encounter until Louis Mafouta's strike in the 54th minute leveled proceedings and injected renewed belief into Le Mans' challenge. Rather than panic, PSG regrouped and turned the match decisively in their favor. The catalyst came just after the hour mark when substitute Fabian Ruiz's powerful shot was parried directly into Kvaratskhelia's path, allowing the Georgian winger to restore the hosts' lead with a composed finish. Akliouche added a third goal seven minutes later, effectively putting the contest beyond doubt and securing PSG's stranglehold on the three points.
Luis Enrique's post-match assessment reflected genuine respect for Le Mans' approach. "It was an almost perfect result," the Spanish coach told PSG TV. "We conceded a goal and it was tough, but knowing we expected to face difficulties, we can say the team was brave. We controlled the match, and it was not easy because Le Mans showed a lot of courage." He continued: "It was very difficult, but it is a pleasure to play against such a courageous team." The manager emphasized that accumulating consecutive wins remains essential as PSG chase the league leaders, noting the side still requires additional points to climb toward the summit of the Ligue 1 standings.
Eyes on European Challenge Ahead
With domestic business firmly settled, PSG now shift attention back to the Champions League, where they face a demanding away fixture against English opposition. Luis Enrique confirmed his squad's readiness for the continental test, stating: "We are heading back into the Champions League, which is a wonderful competition. Away from home and against an English team, it will be difficult, but we are ready." The back-to-back domestic and European schedule will test PSG's depth and mental resilience as they chase silverware across multiple fronts during the campaign.
