Jesus described the uncertainty surrounding his situation at Arsenal, explaining how he initially remained hopeful despite limited prospects. "I went through the entire pre-season with Arsenal as usual," he told Mundo Deportivo. "Obviously I knew beforehand that I probably wouldn't play there or that opportunities would be limited, but nobody explicitly told me that." The forward demonstrated professionalism throughout the ordeal, continuing to train with the first team despite the clear indication his future lay elsewhere.
Isolation and Redemption
The ordeal intensified when Arsenal eventually sidelined him from group training sessions. "Then suddenly, they put me to train on my own," Jesus recalled. "I kept training and gave my best to be ready in case I got the chance to play at the highest level again." Jesus credited Barcelona sporting director Deco with orchestrating the move that rescued his career. "We knew I had a chance to come, and I said yes straight away, no matter what," he explained. "I am extremely happy to be here."
