The French defender, signed from Crystal Palace in the summer, claimed his side created enough chances to have earned at least a point against Mikel Arteta's unbeaten Gunners, despite conceding twice after taking an early lead.
Chelsea stunned Arsenal within the opening two minutes but couldn't maintain their advantage as the home side mounted a comeback. Lacroix acknowledged the difficulty of playing at the Emirates but felt his backline had performed creditably in a competitive encounter. "We are a little bit unhappy after losing, but I believe we did well," Lacroix told reporters. "Luck was not by our side, but we have to accept it. I think we deserved the 2-2."
Momentum Shift Proved Costly
The defender highlighted how Arsenal's equaliser shifted the tactical balance of the match. Once momentum swung toward the hosts, Chelsea found themselves under sustained pressure, though they continued searching for an equaliser through Estevao, whose late attempt was saved by David Raya. Lacroix emphasised the team's commitment throughout, praising their character and desire even as chances dwindled. The narrow margins that separate victory from defeat in top-flight football were evident, with both sides creating opportunities to claim maximum points.
Captain Reece James echoed Lacroix's perspective, noting that Premier League matches at elite level turn on fine details. "Football at this level is a game of moments," James explained.
