The former Arsenal prospect appeared to grab the fan by the throat in the 70th minute, sparking a three-minute delay as officials restored order and ejected the spectator from the stadium.
The incident unfolded when a young Portsmouth fan threw the ball over Bielik's head as the midfielder rushed to retrieve it from the touchline. In response, Bielik reached into the stands and made contact with the spectator's neck area. The fan immediately pushed back and appeared to strike Bielik in the face, prompting angry reactions from home supporters. The altercation escalated further when another spectator hurled a second ball that struck Cardiff defender Perry Ng on the back of the head.
Referee Allows Play to Resume Without Red Card
Referee Ben Speedie paused the match and consulted with both managers—John Mousinho of Portsmouth and Brian Barry-Murphy of Cardiff—plus their captains. Stadium security eventually ejected the fan involved in the initial confrontation. Remarkably, despite the physical nature of the clash, Bielik was not shown a second yellow or red card, having already received a booking in the ninth minute. He remained on the pitch until being substituted in stoppage time.
Portsmouth claimed victory through goals from Conor Shaughnessy and Marezi, extending Cardiff's winless run to five league matches. The Bluebirds remain in 22nd place in the Championship, while Portsmouth moved to 13th following their promotion to the second tier.
