Raphinha Slams Transfer Lies Ahead of Barcelona vs Real

Raphinha has launched a fierce defence of his Barcelona future, dismissing transfer rumours as deliberate fabrications designed to undermine the club ahead of this weekend's pivotal Clásico against Real Madrid. The Brazilian winger expressed frustration at what he views as a coordinated campaign by certain media figures to manufacture doubt about his commitment to the Catalan giants.

Speaking to ESPN, the 29-year-old did not mince words about the speculation that has followed him since his arrival at Camp Nou. "Since I arrived at Barcelona, since the first day there has been speculation that I am going to leave this club. I think people don't like seeing me here very much," Raphinha said. He singled out one journalist in particular, accusing them of repeatedly publishing false narratives about internal meetings and alleged uncertainty over his future. The La Liga star insisted that such reporting should be disregarded entirely.

Title Race Focus

Despite the transfer noise, Raphinha's immediate focus remains on securing Barcelona's league championship. With an 11-point lead over Real Madrid, a draw on Sunday would mathematically confirm the title. "What priority for me is winning the league, regardless of the opponent," he stated. "For the fans, especially those who have been here longer, beating our biggest rivals is something special. But the most important thing for me is winning the title."

Raphinha's performance this season justifies the club's protection of their star winger. Despite injury limitations that restricted him to 31 appearances, he has delivered 27 goal involvements with 19 goals and 8 assists in 2024-25. Barcelona's coaching staff consider him untouchable, even as the club faces pressure to generate €100 million in summer sales to meet La Liga's financial regulations. His clinical finishing and consistent output make him central to any realistic title push, particularly in decisive fixtures like the impending Clásico.
