"I see Álvarez in good shape, but the truth is that he is suffering after what happened recently, and that is a cause for concern," Cerezo told Spanish media. The 24-year-old publicly requested a transfer to Barcelona during the summer transfer window, but Atlético Madrid firmly rejected the Catalan club's advances and enforced his contract, which runs until 2030.
