Yan Diomande has become the centre of a fierce transfer battle this summer, with Arsenal, Manchester City, and Real Madrid all willing to match Liverpool's €100 million offer for the RB Leipzig winger. The Ivorian talent, however, remains fixated on joining Paris Saint-Germain, where personal terms have already been agreed through 2031, even as PSG delay submitting a formal bid.
The 19-year-old has impressed across Europe's top leagues following his move from Leganés to Leipzig last summer. In the 2025-26 Bundesliga campaign, Diomande registered 12 goals and 8 assists across 33 appearances, becoming just the fourth-youngest player in the competition's history to reach double figures for goals in a single season. His explosive breakthrough helped fire Leipzig to Champions League qualification and earned him a World Cup call-up with Ivory Coast, where he featured prominently in all four of his country's matches.
The Bidding War Intensifies
Liverpool moved first with their €100 million proposal, but Leipzig rejected the offer, knowing their prize asset commands premium value in today's market. The Bundesliga club has now set a minimum asking price of €120 million, aware that the player's trajectory and calibre of interested suitors justify a substantial fee. Arsenal have targeted Diomande following Leandro Trossard's departure and view the winger as essential to Mikel Arteta's attacking plans. Manchester City and Real Madrid, meanwhile, are monitoring the situation as potential suitors for elite talent.
A significant complication exists in the structure any deal might take. RB Leipzig favour a loan-back clause that would retain Diomande in Germany for one additional season, but Luis Enrique's PSG want the winger available immediately to strengthen their domestic and European campaigns. Recent discussions between Red Bull chief Oliver Mintzlaff and PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi at the World Cup final in New York suggest negotiations are progressing, yet no formal offer has materialised from the French champions.
As multiple elite clubs circle, Diomande's preferred destination faces mounting pressure to accelerate their bid or risk losing a generational talent to competitors from the Premier League or La Liga.
